Ebay Item #13546431684 *Jeremy's Right Lung* No Reserve! Bid Now! [Aug. 9th, 2005|11:34 am]
[mood | sick]
[music |The Cure - Just Like Heaven]

I think that right now, I should be home, in bed and mindlessly watching daytime television.  Alas, I'm at work on the phones taking calls.  The reason why I say this is because I currently have a cold, yeah in the middle of summer.  It started out as a sore throat a few days ago, then yesterday I started sneezing and getting congested.  I've been drinking tea like a madman, because it's the only thing that seems to help my throat feel better.  Thank Buddha for green tea, it's so good, actually I should go pick up some mint green tea on my way home after work.  I could have called in sick, but I really want to save my sick time in at work.  And I'm well enough to do my job, just coughing inbetween speaking, no big deal at least I'm making money to spend at Otakon.

Speaking of Otakon, it's ten days now till the start of the convention!  I can't wait, I'm like a small child waiting for Christmas, god I'm such a nerd, lol.  Like I said I think this con is really important to me, because it's the first time I've been able to go since moving to Florida.  That and I know a boat load of people going.  I don't care if the con itself sucks, I'm going for the experience of having fun and probably getting drunk, while watching anime at the same time.

I was going through some of my old boxes yesterday, and I found a bunch of pictures of the MadKatz from high school.  Ah, the memories, and it occured to me that I really don't know what happened to a bunch of the crew. The only people I keep in contact with are Elisse, Kellie, Kat, Carlos, and Dawn.  Then again, those guys were the closest ones to me in our crazy little group.  Nothing makes me happier sometimes than thinking about the past, rather than facing the future.  What what can ya do? Life goes on!

Alright, I'm on break right now typing away, it's about time to get back to work.  Alain if you read this, I hope your luck changes soon, I know your find a job soon enough.  Anyway, have a great day everyone!

P.S.  I just noticed that my music choice is "The Cure" and my mood is sick.  God I didn't think about it, I'm sick and I need a cure. lol.  Cheesy yes I know.

You Are My New Apprentice, I Shall Call You Darth Sheri-Chan! [Jul. 30th, 2005|11:10 am]
[mood | Laughable]
[music |Goriallz - Good Feel Inc.]

I went to go see Charlie and the Chocolate Factory again last night. This time though, I took my little sister, Sheri who has been wanting to go since it came out. She's eleven, but will be twelve this October so she's in this in between stage where she's not old enough to hang out at the mall by herself with her friends. Well, because my parents do have common sense and don't let her run around senseless like so many other kids her age at the mall on the weekends. And to add most kids I want to give a backhand too, goodness I loathe teenagers, I don't remember acting so stupidly. Moving on, we went to see the movie, and I asked her if she liked it, and she said, "I want to see it again!" I just laughed to myself.

My little sister, has basically been my little apprentice all summer. Before when I was downloading and watching anime upstairs using the family computer, she would sit behind me and watch anime. Basically, she keep on bugging me to let her watch anime. So after a long talk with my mom, she agreed I could let her watch some, but it could be nothing more than a PG-13 rating. Most of my anime is more than a PG-13 rating, so there goes my little sis watching Evangelion. I started her off with Ah! My Goddess, which she loves, and then Naruto. She has just finished watching Wolf's Rain, I don't think she really liked it. She's watched a little bit of Inuyasha, and without consequence I ask her who is favorite character is, guess who! Sesshoumaru, my favorite as well. My good friend Samantha lent her some Inuyasha and Pre-tear to watch, I think I might snag Pre-tear and watch it myself. I'd like to get her into Fushigi Yugi, but with some of the suggestive stuff like Yuriko being a drag queen, and Yui getting raped when she first lands in the book, I don't think are good for her at this age. Sheri even asked me if she could go to Otakon with me, and mom was standing right there, I told her no, she had to be a little older, but I would pick her up some stuff from the dealer's room. In a nutshell, my little sister is turning into a little anime geek, and I love it.

I'm currently at work right now, so I've off to read some books I picked up last night. I picked up the first of the Chronicles of Narnia series, so I can know what's gonna happen in the movie, and then be able to compare the movie to the books. Anyway, have a great weekend guys.

P.S. Alain, either call or IM me sometime soon.
P.S.S. Apartment hunting is a real pain in the arse.

I'm currently sitting at my desk at work, and casually waiting for my first call for the morning.  And something occured to me, I never told all of the people on my live journal that I went out and bought the newest Harry Potter book, a few weeks ago. Of course, I've finished reading it and all I can say it was pretty damn good.  The Half-Blood Prince I feel, was basically the setup book for book seven.  Nothing too much action wise happens in the sixth volume, it's more focused on learning about Volemort's past, where Snape's loyalty's lie, Malfoy's suspicious behavior, and the identity of the "half-blood" prince.  Oh and Harry get horny to say the least, which is very funny and he does get a girlfriend, but I won't say exactly who it is.  I actually had to look up the word "snog" because it's used frequently in the book, it's basically british slang for making out, which I had already guessed, but I had to make sure.

Speaking of british slang, anyone wanna guess what a bearded axe wound means?

Alright I'm starting to actually get some work done, talk to y'all later.

All The Worlds A Stage... Until It's Invaded By Aliens. [Jul. 23rd, 2005|02:34 pm]
[mood | hot]
[music |The Killers - On Top (Love this song)]

Hey everyone, I just saved a bunch of money on my car insurance... by switching to Geico and finally updating my live journal.  Yes, corny and over used slogan indeed, but can ya blame me. *Waits a moment.* Yeah I thought so.  Anyway, I can believe that it's already getting to be toward the end of July, this summer just seems to be going by quickly.  Maybe, I just need to take a second and breathe, and just relax for a moment, or better yet, I could get Superman to fly around the earth counterclockwise and turn back time.  I really haven't been up to much lately, pretty much just work and hanging out with my friends.  The typical Jeremy stuff, that's not always that exciting, but nonetheless exciting enough for me.

Announcements
Alain, congratulations on making it to NYC in one piece, I hope you find a job and an apartment soon enough.  I want to come up and visit and tour the city, especially Chinatown.  And all my love to Jennifer, she's taking care of you now.  And yes, we will finally do some drinking when I come up there to visit.

My buddy Colin also gets an important kudos for landing the internship he interviewed for, a few weeks back.  Now he's will calling me J-Rome, and I gots all the bitches.

Also, Carlos you get some props too, just for being Carlos and being pretty much the only person I keep in touch with from Florida.

Movie Reviews! (Okay this time I'll keep it short... hobbit style!)

Fantastic Four
Okay, I believe this was the most over-hyped movie of the summer.  I was really excited to see this movie, because of all things, at one time in my life I was a comic book nerd.  The movie was okay, but it's not like I'm going to pay to see it again, I think if anyone hasn't seen it yet, wait for the DVD release and rent it.  The upside to this movie were Human Torch humor and special effects.  Also Mike Chiklis playing the Thing was a great role choice.  The bad side, hmmm did I say I was going to keep the reviews short?

Charlie and the Chocolate Factory
Alright, for starters please go see this movie, it was wonderful!  Don't get my wrong, I love the original Willy Wonka with Gene Wilder.  This version was totally different and on a different scale of the first movie. Tim Burton's adaptation was hilarious to watch and when you are watching it, doesn't even feel like it's a gothic-weird vibe as usual.  Johnny Depp as Willy Wonka was like my live journal icon says..."deliciously creepy."

The Island
So if your up for a good action movie with pretty people go see The Island.  I was a little disappointed though, double Ewan McGregors! But alas, no double of Scarlett Johansen, now that's a sandwich I'd like to be the meat between (no pun on the meat... okay yeah pun on that phrase.)

Alright, I went to King's Dominion this past Thursday with my friend Colin.  He scored some free tickets from his brother and we traveled down to the park early in the morning.  I had a great time and got on a few roller coasters.  The new Tomb Raider ride was really lame, just a ride that swing you around circles for a few minutes and that's it.  I didn't buy anything, stuff down there was too expensive, as theme park stuff usually is.  Alright, I'm going to log off here now, I'm getting some calls, I'm currently at work.

Samuel L. Jackson Beer on July 4th, It'll Get Ya Drunk Patroitic Style! [Jul. 4th, 2005|09:20 am]
[mood | jubilant]
[music |Something With John Phillip Soussa]

Just wanted to wish everyone a happy fourth of July!  May all of you drink to your hearts content while enjoy picnic type foods and cook outs!  Seriously though, do take a moment and think about those who have come before us and those currently defending for our country.  We are not a perfect country, and honestly never will be (maybe close when Bush gets out of office) but we are a nation and as jaded as I am, do I appreciate that do I have freedom and live in a place where I am able to use them everyday.  Okay enough with the serious stuff, nuff said.  Now everyone go out there and light up and fireworks and get drinking.  Actually cross that last statement, get out there and watch some fireworks and drink responsibly. Word.

[music |The Verve - Bittersweet Symphony]

Wow, I can't believe it's July already! Where has all the time gone? Or as Captain Jack Sparrow says, "Where has all the rum gone?" Yum, rum is good especially mixed in Coke. I'm currently in at work idley doing web surfing and realized I have not updated my live journal for quite sometime. I know there are some folks down in Florida, such as my friend Carlos(see I mentioned you)who like to read up on what I'm up too. I've not been up to much lately, pretty much just hanging out with my close friends and going out drinking with Colin once a week. Oh yeah, by the way I'm on diet and I lost five pounds my first week, go me! Only twenty more pounds to go!

Movies, Movies, Movies...

First off, let me start off with the best movie I've seen this summer so far. That would have to be Batman Begins. *Places hands together in prayer like form* thank you Christopher Nolan for making Batman cool again and working with a great script and having wonderful actors in your movie. I was so happy to see no nipples on the Batman suit and Gotham City didn't look like a neon colored Metropolis, which were both ideas from Jerry Brockheimer for the last two Batman films. The story illustrates how Bruce Wayne becomes Batman, leading to the death of his parents and becoming the dark knight. There are three villains in the film, first is Henri Duccard played by Liam Neeson, next is Ra's Al Ghul played by Ken Watanabe (best known for the head Samurai Guy in The Last Samurai), and finally, Cillian Murphy as Johnathon Crane a.k.a. The Scarecrow. Alright, Liam Neeson was so damn good, who ever thought and Irishman could be a kickass master ninja! Christian Bale as Bruce Wayne/Batman was a great choice, although I thought he was a better Wayne than Batman. Oh I forgot the mention, Michael Caine is Alfred, which was mostly the comic relief, but also he got some of the best dramatic lines in the film *tear*. I didn't think that Katie Holmes was the best actress to have for the love interest, although I must say it was a nice to see those headlights towards the end of the movie. I could go on and on about how great this movie is, but I'd bore the heck out of some of y'all. Just go see it, nuff said.

Okay, last week I went to go see Howl's Moving Castle, the newest Hayao Miyazaki film to hit the theaters in America. For those non-anime fans, Miyazaki has directed other hit Japanese films like Princess Mononoke and Spirited Away, both were in theaters in the states. All I can say about Howl's is that is was phenomenal, I enjoyed every second of it. The character were very much the usual Miyazaki style with the round simple faces, but yet impressive enough to tell a marvelous story. As most people know I'm pretty much a strict fan of reading sub-titles for anime and anime movies. But of course, this movie was produced and dubbed by Disney here in the states and for that they get some impressive talent. The character of Howl was voiced by Christian Bale, which is kind of ironic because in the movie he progressively turns into a giant back bird and yet Christian Bale is Batman, go figure. Emily Mortimer is the voice of Sophie the main character in the movie, she was great as well. Hell (no pun) even Billy Crystal did an excellent job as the fire demon named Kal who powered the moving castle. I must say, if you want to sit back and enjoy a wonderful movie, I highly suggest Howl's Moving Castle, although I had to travel an hour to go see it, it was worth it (because I'm an anime nerd).

Alright, just last night I went with my best buddy Elisse to go see War of the Worlds starring Tom Cruise and Dakota Fanning. This movie was very intense I didn't even know they were going to go into some of the themes that they took. The movie wasn't just about a bunch of aliens trying to kill all human life on the planet but actually takes another step to see the real side of human nature when it comes to survival of the fittest. Tom Cruise did was pretty good job, but when it comes to playing the simple average joe, he's not qualified, he over acted his part as usual. But oh my goodness, Dakota Fanning, that little girl is going places, she is such a great actress especially for her age, its amazing. I won't go into much detal about the movie, since it just came out, but it's also worth to go see, but excuse me I feel a sneeze coming on, *Achoo* ;)!

Alright, well I'm signing off here, I'm thinking about going to the Antietam Battlefield for the fireworks tonight. Maybe I'll see some people there, anyway have a good fourth, don't get too drunk, lol!

[music |U2 - All That You Can't Leave Behind]

I just noticed it's been awhile since I've updated my live journal with an actual content about what's going on in my life.  Well nothing much has actually changed, well one big thing did kind of happen.  I've got good news, well I didn't say a bunch of money on my car insurance by switching to Geico, but I have offically paid off my credit card debt.  I'm offically debt free from the credit card company, I made my last payment this week, and I must say I feel pretty damn good about it.  My next goal is to save up some money for awhile and then it's going to be real estate shopping.  That's right, I'm going to try and buy a house.  Nothing too big, probably end up getting a townhouse somewhere, or a really small two bedroom one bath.  I still debating whether I want to have a room mate or not, I might try living by myself for awhile, if not I know who I can turn to for room mates.

I've been going out a lot with my friend Colin, he just turned twenty one last week and now he's all about going out to the bars.  I don't mind going out every so often, but geez c'mon let's face it, I'm not a social butterly.  I'd much rather be a wallflower, watching and listening to what people are saying in conversation.  Damn, it sucks being a listener sometimes.  He wants me to pick up girls from the bars and flirt with them.  Once again I'm not the type of person to pick someone up from a bar, what happened to casually meeting someone and have an intellectual conversation.  Then again, this is Hagerstown, not many people around here to have a worthwhile conversation with.  Oh well, he's just trying his best to get me to be a little more social, which I can understand it's better than staying at home bored with nothing to do.  I'd probably feel better about hitting on girls if I had a little bit more self confidence, but let's face it, I'm not that attractive or have a very good personality.... right?

Speaking of my friends, my long time friend Alain is getting ready to move to New York in about the next six weeks or so.  I'm not really sure how I feel about this, I've known he's leaving for a good while now.  One side of me is really glad that he's getting out of Hagerstown and going in a totally new direction in his life.  The other part of me is really going to miss him, I mean I just got my support system of friends back and now he's going to leave.  I can't hold anything against him, I'm sure he felt the same way when I left for Florida a few years ago.  Hmmm, I guess I'll just have to spend as much time as I can with him until it's his last day in town.  I keep telling myself it's not goodbye, but more like "I'll see ya in a while."  The good thing is he's moving to NYC, and it's only four hours away, and I could go up and visit him on occasion.  Besides I'm never been to New York, ever so I'm looking forward to a trip up there when he's settled in and established up there.  He's already promised me a day in Chinatown (big grin).

Wow, I seem to be ranting on and on about friends and such, I guess that I've never realized how many people that I know in my lifetime.  Well, I'm at work right now, so I guess I'll be taking some calls.  Later everyone!

Hmmm Beer, Must Go and Hid Now! [May. 7th, 2005|03:55 pm]
[mood | depressed]
[music |Franz Ferninad - Take Me Out]

Alright, this week has seemed to have passed me by, very quickly.  I've had a good week at work. I got a complimentary e-mail from a client, which I passed onto my boss whom was very pleased.  I had my first talk with my boss about my numbers and such with being on the phone and troubleshooting.  My numbers were kind of high, but that was expected but he said they were pretty good nonetheless.  He asked me if I had any questions or concerns.  I've been wanting to get off the weekend shift in at work.  The whole, "extra dollar an hour" is not really that impressive, it's only and extra $32 bucks every paycheck.  So I came in yesterday, my supervisor says, "Okay, sometime in the early summer, your going to be working 9:30am - 6:00pm, and have Sunday and Mondays off."  I was happy, I'll still work Saturdays, but I'll get out early enough to go out for evening, and I'll have Mondays off.  Which is great, because just like Garfield, I hate Mondays.

Cinco de Mayo, was this past Thursday and it a great excuse to go to a party and drink.  Kudos for Mexican Indepedence, gracias!  My friend Colin invited me to a college party down in Winchester, VA at Shendoah University.  It's funny because the person having the party was an old friend of mine from youth group who I had lost contact with over the years, and Colin's friend Derk was visiting from Florida whom I also knew.  So Thursday afternoon, Colin and I set down I-81 for some drunken adventure and fun.  We got down there, and met up with Diana and Derk.  The party is going on and tons of people show up, I'm trying to be social and the alcohol is helping out greatly, but I just can't seem to talk to anyone.  Uh, I'm no good around strangers, I felt like a total loser. I pretty much sat there being unhappy, Colin was having a great time, made out with this girl, and had some questionable act happen in the bathoroom.  Everything thought I wasn't having a good time, kept on coming over and seeing how I was doing. I just said I was sobering up, which I was, but still I was totally overwhelmed.  All the kids there were music students.  And let's face it, I can't sing, I don't know jack about music, and most people think I have bad taste in music.  After awhile, I went outside again and talked to some more people.  I was talking to one guy who liked Smallville, so I was like, yes... someone who I have something in common with!  And then some gay guys started making fun of Colin, and I joined in... Colin kept going off how it's "okay to be gay."  It's was quite funny, because they were talking about how they were going to take him home and rape him, hehe.  I wish Elisse could have come it was like yaoi theater (yaoi = boy love) she would have loved it.  I got some pics of some hot girls making out... ahhh.  But still I'm really disappointed in myself for not being more social, I just went under my rock and hid. Argh, felt like high school all over againl  Oh well.  Ended up not getting home till after four in the morning.  I was very sober and had to drive Colin back to my house in his car, because he got totally wasted so he stayed the night until he left.

Friday, I was feeling so shitty.  I slept on the couch and let Colin have my bed, because I knew he'd be passed out for awhile and not much sunlight comes in from my bedroom.  I probably didn't sleep until five or so, and woke up around nine, and couldn't fall back asleep.  So yesterday I was really tired and didn't have much of an appetite so that made me feel even more crappy.  I went into work to pick up my check and I had won an award.  I got best attendance for April and got a $15 gift certificate. Yah me!  So I went out to the mall to go shopping for some clothes, actually just cargo pants.  So I walked down to the theater to see times for Kingdom of Heaven.  And the best thing was going down at the theater! Star Wars Episode III tickets were on sale, I went ahead and purchased six of them.  One for me and five unclaimed ones.  Alright, two have been claimed, Colin has one, and Kellie wanted one.  Anyone else wanna go with me? It's for the midnight showing on May 19!  I've got three tickets left, Elisse you wanna go?  That made my day.  Afterward, I headed home, ate some dinner and took a nap till nine o'clock I didn't even bother to see the movie, maybe tonight.

Anyway, hoping to build some courage for the next party I go to with lots of people. *Crosses fingers*

*Holds Sign* Otakon or Bust! [May. 3rd, 2005|01:00 pm]
[mood | dorky]

Alright, I just got my request back from the staff here at the office.   They granted me the days off of the convention! Whoo hoo!  So now I can say with out a doubt, "I'M OFFICIALLY GOING TO OTAKON!"  Now some people may think I'm going overboard with the excitement of going, but c'mon people this will be my first Otakon since 2002!  This is a yearly event for me and I've always enjoyed going to the convention every year.  So if I keep bugging my anime friends to go, I do apologize, I just want to have a good time with a bunch of good friends that's all.  That and this year, I'm old enough to go drinking with my peeps in downtown Baltimore or once.  So we can have drunken anime fun (And I have a feeling that may be a good or bad thing, guess I'll find out). So just wanted to make the announcement, I'm going it's a sure thing now.

Now I'll go back underneath my rock for the next three months or so until the convention and ponder what goodies I'm going to buy, hehehe.

The day has finally come, the day that I can secure my "golden ticket" well more like con badge for my mecca of all events.  Oh course, I'm talking about Otakon!  You can now pre-register on-line for the premire anime convention.  I've already registered and damn it I'm going to go!  I'm back in the state for the first time in three years, so I'm going to go and have my OTAKON.  Click on the link below if you'd like to pre-reg.

"Boba Fett?!? Boba Fett Where?" *Thud* - Han Solo ROTJ [Apr. 29th, 2005|10:48 am]

[music |50 Cent - Candy Shop]

Sorry for the screwy subject line, but I was looking at some Star Wars Episode III pictures today on-line while at work and for some reason that scene popped into my head, lol.  Yeah, I'm at work only for a few hours, I'm working some overtime today, only four hours, I could use the extra cash.  I've gotta be here at 7:30 tomorrow morning.  My boss asked that I could come in earlier, I said yes, but only if I could leave earlier and he said okay.  Whoo hoo, but thing is I've got to wake up earlier on a Saturday (ugh).

So this week, has really gone by quickly and I don't know why... seems odd that it has.  On Tuesday night, I went out to dinner with Elisse at TGI Friday's.  It was just the two of us, and it was great, we caught up on everything and had our talk about us and our friendship. It was very heartfelt and we are really going to working on getting our relationship back on track.  After dinner we visited Borders and then Wonder Book and Video, talking about movies, books, and movie star obessions.  I joked with Elisse I was going to get out my Obi-Wan and Wolverine figures and have yaoi theater, just for her.  I picked up some more manga to read, the Garden State soundtrack, and a cool little book about Japanese folklore which Elisse found for me!  Oh and I finally broke down and bought The Last Samurai on DVD.

Going out with Elisse has been the highlight of my week, nothing else really to comment on.  Hopefully, I'll be going to see Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy with someone today.  It looks cool, and I'm hoping they will show the Serenity trailer before the movie, hehehe inner Joss Wheadon nerd.  Anyway, later all have a great weekend!

[music |The Killers - Somebody Told Me]

Okay, I've offically gotten the fever, and as each day goes by I'm getting more amped for Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith. Everyone knows that my all time favorite Star Wars character is Yoda of course, but I've got a confession.  Chewbacca is quickly coming up in the ranks.  Each time I see the Episode III trailer I see Wookiees, and I get amped because Wookiees are so badass.  I'm exposing my little sister to Star Wars, she interested in the films.  So yesterday we watched A New Hope and Empire Strikes Back.  She had countless questions while we were watching and I just kept on saying, "Watch the movie, you'll find out!"  Now I have to get her to watch Return of the Jedi, and then episodes I and II.  I probably will skip out on episode I, maybe I'll tell her to clue me in with the last twenty minutes, any exposure to Jake Lloyd playing that annoying Anakin Skywalker makes me chringe.  Oh, and also Jar Jar Binks.  Also my little sister is getting into Anime, I've already got her started on Ah! My Goddess and my new personal favorite, Naruto.  Hehe, another nerd in the family, it's great.  The bad news, mom doesn't want her watching anything above PG-13 so no Neon Genesis Evangelion, damn it.

You know I've been doing a lot of thinking lately.  Just about my relationship with my friends and the people that I have in my life.  I've found that it's really hard connecting with people after such a long abscence in their lives.  With some friends, it's just been fine, just picked up where we've left off and go on from there, nothing has changed.  Alongside with some people, it took awhile to adjust and just catch up with what was going on in our lives.  But the one thing that really, really, has been on my mind particular is on really close friend.  This person has been through thick and thin with me for many years, and when I moved I know it really hurt this person deeply.  Well, I'm back now and it seems as though I'm distancing myself away from this person because I get the general feeling they do not want me around.  But I don't want that, maybe it's my messed up brain telling they don't want me around, I don't know.  Oy, what am I to do?  I guess just take it and see what happens. The one thing, I know is that I need to sit down and talk with this person, but me being awkard and hating a confrontation so I'm avoiding it.  Speaking of which, I've not heard from anyone in Florida for awhile, guess I'll be e-mailing some people down there as well.

Well I'm at work at the moment, getting flooded with calls which is weird for a Saturday, talk to all of ya later.
